FARM NEWS (5 Notes)


#1 - WHAT A RIDE

It's been a wild ride on our grand adventure. We've soaked up a lot from our roots, we've dug into family and we've found even more inspiration. We're just gearing up for a big mission back home to the farm and we're feeling the buzz of spring and the pull of purpose all the way from here.

We will be a back to steadily adding to the farm stand by next week, working through our re-stock of waffles, crackers, greens and other goodies. Be sure to come by next weekend to see what we've been up to and bare with us while we catch up with ourselves and surf our jet lag wave.

FARM STAND UPDATES
  • There are duck eggs coming in. We're getting a few half dozens in to the stand now. Give them a try, some of the shells are blue. Who knew?
  • We've dropped the price of our jumbo eggs and now you can get 2 yolks for $1
  • Greens are coming - Mixed greens will be in next weekend, spinach and arugula are popping, nettle is starting to bulk up... we're on our way and we have a TON in the ground.
#2 - NEXT FRESH BAKING IS FRIDAY APRIL 10TH FROM 12PM AT THE FARM STAND

The baker will be back in the house by next week and we will be ramping up to fill our tables with all your favourites by Friday April 10th at 12pm.

On offer NEXT weekend you will find:
  • Simple Sourdough Loaves - $10
  • Cinnamon Raisin Loaves - $11
  • Cheese (and maybe) Garlic Loaves - $12 (depends on the garlic)
  • Seedy Whole Wheaty Loaves - $11
  • Black Olive + Olive Oil Loaves - $12
  • Seedy Bagels - Mixed and Sesame - $2 each
  • Everything Bagels - $2 each
  • Cheese Bagels - $2.50 each
  • Cinnamon Raisin Bagels - $2 each
We've been given a challenge by a friend to make a buttery croissant loaf... So there might be a few of those on the table as well... if all goes to plan

If you'd like to order a SANDWICH STYLE loaf, just send me a note and I can make that happen for you.

Pickup will begin at 12pm on Friday at the Farm Stand for any items ordered this week. I will have your pre-ordered items in bags with your names on them.

#5 - WE'RE STILL HIRING

We're looking for someone to join our team! If you know of anyone who might suit us, please pass along our contact info and have them reach out. We're seeking a farm hand to work in the garden. Lots of planting, harvesting, bed prep/flipping, weeding, washing and packing. We're looking for a hearty, all-weather, kinda person. Good attention to detail, a solid work ethic and a genuine interest in feeding our community the best food we possibly can.

NOTE: Our farm stand is open daily during daylight hours and is stocked with lots of fresh fruit and veggies (in season), eggs, waffles, crackers and more. Come on by anytime.

Feel free to pass on our order form or website (www.growwild.com) to friends and family who might be interested in receiving fresh sourdough products over this fall and winter season.
LOCATION
Our address is 655 Ferguson Rd. When you pull into the driveway you can turn right just before the stables. There are signs directing you down to the farm stand parking lot. You then walk across the lawn to the little farm stand cabin.

PAYMENT
Payment is through the honour system. We have a cash box on the table. If you do not have cash you can e-transfer to emily@growwild.com. All proceeds from our sales go back into the farm.
