FARM NEWS (4 Notes)
#1 - FRESH BAKING THIS WEEK - BREAD ON FRIDAY / BAGELS ON SATURDAY
|
|
We're back to baking this week! Fresh bread will be up on Friday morning, starting at 10am. Fresh bagels will be out on Saturday Morning by 10am.
|
I'm baking as much as I have capacity for this week which means I'll be doing some sandwich loaves as well. We love these.
|
More cookies are incoming tomorrow (Thursday) and we'll be doing batches and batches of waffles and crackers again in time for a big Saturday re-stock.
|
Pre-orders are open if you'd like something set aside. But, I promise, there will be loads of stock for you to come by and peruse at your leisure over the weekend and get what you're looking for.

#2 - SHOULD WE TAKE DEBIT + CREDIT CARDS?

We have set up a BEAN POLL in the farm stand.
|
|
Do you want us to take debit + credit cards? Yes or No?

You just have to add a bean to the jar with your corresponding answer.

What would this look like?
|
We will set up a card reader and screen where you will be able to select from a menu the items you are purchasing, it would tally it up for you and then give you the option to pay by cash or card. If by card, there will be a reader there to tap or insert your card. If by cash, you will just use the box as usual. You would then have the option for an email, text or no receipt.
|
If the screen is too difficult, we will still keep the notebook on hand for folks who would prefer to pay cash and write down their purchase.

#3 - MARKETS START NEXT WEEKEND! JUNE 7TH AT SUNSHINE BAY FROM 9-12
|

Things are about to change! It's market time. We're gearing up for a solid showing at this summer's markets and we can't wait to see you all there!
|
You can expect fresh bread every Sunday morning as well as fresh baked grab 'n go goodies like our seasonal breakfast buns and some other creations that we've been working on.
|
We will continue to stock the farm stand with frozen baking and all the eggs, fruit and veggies. We hope to keep our fridges and tables brimming with seasonal goodness throughout the growing season. We will also be doing sporadic fresh baking on weekdays just to keep the farm stand stocked. We've got our work cut out for us... but we're up to the challenge.

Throughout Market Season you can expect Fresh bagels to be available on Saturday mornings at the farm stand and we will bring day-olds to the market when we can. It's just too much for us to boil and bake our bagels on the morning of the market alongside getting the bread and veg out the door.

#4 - FINAL WEEK OF ASPARAGUS, EGYPTIAN GREEN ONIONS + FRESH RHUBARB
|
|
We are doing our final harvest of rhubarb today. Our perennial green onions are done and we are leaning on our neighbouring farms for a regular supply of annual green onions through the season. We will do a few more harvests of asparagus over the coming 2 weeks and then we will leave the plants to settle their roots for the season. Come get the asparagus while you can.
|
We're doing a final huge batch of candied rhubarb over the coming days which we hope will carry us deep into the summer.

Our address is 655 Ferguson Rd. When you pull into the driveway, turn right just after the silo and park in the open area. Walk down on the pathway in the direction of the lake to the front of the building. This is the farm stand.
|
