FARM NEWS (4 Notes)
#1 - Grow Wild Summer Camp - July 29 to August 1 - Ages 6-9
|
|
We are SUPER EXCITED to announce that we will be hosting a 4 day summer camp here at the farm this season. This has been a dream of ours since we envisioned starting a farm, we wanted to create a space to connect kids (and adults) to their food and environment... and this is a solid step towards accomplishing that. The camp will be facilitated by Kim from Thimble Hill Nursery and Nashira who is a kindergarten teacher, we are just providing the environment and these epic women will be taking the kids through days of exploration and adventure. Pre-Orders are now open for all fresh micro-bakery sourdough products. Please click this link: https://forms.gle/5QNAzk283RTPKFB26 to place your pre-orders. If the form is not accessible for you, please just reply to this note or send me a message and I'll put it in for you.

We will be taking orders until Friday morning. I will bake extra items for folks who want to pop in and see what we've got.

Pickup will begin at 10am on Saturday at the Farm Stand for any items ordered this week. Please do not come before 10am on Saturday. I am often baking until the very last minute, I'm tied to the oven... and need all the time to get things set up. I will have your pre-ordered items in bags with your names on them. Any other loose items on the table will be available for sale.

#3 - Feature Bagels This Week

This week bagel options will be:

- Simple with Seeds
- Cheese - These are $2.50 each because cheese is expensive.
- Everything - Sesame, poppy, flax, onion + garlic
We have heaps of eggs! We're positively swimming in eggs. We also have duck eggs. We will be stocking those by the half dozen. We have so many eggs, we can barely keep up. This is what we wanted and also... its what YOU wanted! 'More Eggs' was one of the most common responses to our recent customer survey. So look at us... over-achieving ;)

#5 - Farm Report - The Greens are Coming!
|
We are doing everything we can to get fresh veggies growing for all of you as early as we possibly can. For now, we have fresh Swiss chard in bunches in the farm stand. Later this week we will have pea shoot bundles (if I can keep my kids from eating all of them). We have planted heaps of lettuce, peas, spinach, arugula, cabbage, radishes, carrots and more and we are watching them all perk up and fill out in our greenhouse. It's all very exciting and we can't wait to get you all stocked up on nutrient dense, delicious veggies all season long. YUM!

NOTE: Our farm stand is open daily during daylight hours and is stocked with lots of fresh fruit and veggies (in season), eggs, waffles, crackers and more!. Come on by anytime!

Our address is 655 Ferguson Rd. As you drive down the driveway you will pass some old stables. Just beyond the stables is an open area you can park in. Our Farm Stand Cabin is located on the right (north side). You will need to head down the pathway and continue around to the front of the building and enter the cabin off the front deck.
Friendly reminder, things are still a little rough around the edges. Please bare with us as we refurbish and get our little stand in shape!

Payment is through the honour system. We have a cash box on the table. If you do not have cash you can e-transfer to emily@growwild.com. All proceeds from our sales go back into the farm.
