Our family has been trying to slow down a little over this school-holiday. This is the only break from school where we can move a little slower, stay up a little later, sleep a little longer and do a little less. Farm and Farm Stand Stocking life never truly stops... the hens certainly don't quit laying... the to do lists really just pile up... and we do our best not to worry too much about it. The result of this hiatus can be seen in the absence of simple sourdough and waffles in the freezer. Not to worry, we're on it.

#2 - SPECIAL FARM STAND EGG PRICE CHANGE
|
For all our regular farm stand goers, we have dropped the price of a dozen back down to $8. With the influx of eggs, we are moving eggs off site to sell them. Our price is staying at $9 if we have to move the eggs and going back to $8 if you come to us! We are grateful to all our regulars, we see you and we appreciate you.

- Large + XL Eggs - $8 dozen (at farm stand) $9 (anywhere else)
- Egg Flat (2.5 dozen Medium-Large Eggs) - $18.75
If you're buying a flat, please bring your own cartons and leave us the flat or just try to bring back the flat when you're done!

Pickup will begin at 12pm on Sunday at the Farm Stand for any items ordered this week. I will have your pre-ordered items in bags with your names on them.
|
We have stocked some frozen, savoury egg-pies in the farm stand. Savoury pies are a New Zealand specialty and we take the pastry recipe right out of the well-loved Edmund's Cookbook which is full of straight kiwi classics.
|
We have Bacon + Onion which is egg, bacon, caramelized onion and potato. And we have Greens + Feta which is egg, Swiss chard, potato, caramelized onion, garlic and feta. These are baked into buttery flaky pastry pies. Pies are fully cooked and frozen. They need to be heated in the oven at 350 for one hour from frozen until piping hot. We like ours with ketchup, but thats not for everyone.

They're $12 each and a real labour of love. We hope you enjoy them while they last.

If anyone has a dough-sheeter laying around that they're not using... one of those would really help me get these baked up more often ;)

NOTE: Our farm stand is open daily during daylight hours and is stocked with lots of fresh fruit and veggies (in season), eggs, waffles, crackers and more. Come on by anytime.

Our address is 655 Ferguson Rd. When you pull into the driveway you can turn right just before the stables. There are signs directing you down to the farm stand parking lot. You then walk across the lawn to the little farm stand cabin.

Payment is through the honour system. We have a cash box on the table. If you do not have cash you can e-transfer to emily@growwild.com. All proceeds from our sales go back into the farm.
