FARM NEWS (4 Notes)

#1 - WHAT IS GOING ON WITH YOUR EGGS?

As you may have noticed, our egg supply has been a little hit and miss these days. We understand it's frustrating and please know, it's hard for us to see that you're showing up and we're not able to keep our fridges stocked. It hurts our hearts and it brings us eggxiety... It is a cornerstone of our business to be a dependable source for eggs in our community, and it has been frustrating that we haven't been able to keep this steady.

We have a plan and here is what you can expect from us in the coming weeks.
This week will be the last week of our farm fresh eggs ... FOR NOW.
By Friday, we will have stocked our final round of eggs from this flock of birds.
Beginning next week we will be bringing in Sunshine Valley's Large Organic Eggs. We will be selling these from our farm stand as a stop-gap measure while we take a few weeks to reset, clean and sterilize our barn and equipment. We thought it would be best to have something to offer alongside our produce and baking... rather than no eggs at all.

At the end of September, we are picking up a brand new flock of birds who will be at point-of-lay. This means we will be straight into production and hopeful that we will be rolling in eggs all winter long. In theory, we should see our egg supply double and have increased consistency. You can expect us to have small eggs by the beginning of October and back to large eggs as we move into winter.

We really appreciate your patience, as always, as we learn out here in public.

#2 - COME SEE OUR FREEZER

I made so much frozen bread. The freezers are busting with a wide selection of all of your favourites. There is also a great variety of frozen fruit and berries ... we have raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and apricots. And we have FROZEN WHOLE CHICKENS! We are super excited to be providing whole chickens from Quantum Farm in Passmore. We are offering these for $7.50/lb.
