Sorry for the late newsletter! I took the kids camping for this past week and I am just trying to recover before throwing myself into market prep! We are working hard to get the farm stand nicely stocked in the coming days and just playing a little catch-up here.
FARM NEWS (4 notes)
#1 - Egg Production Update
We are headed into a change of season, which means that it's time for our hens to slow down. In the coming weeks we are going to see a drop in our egg supply. We have a new batch of hens arriving this week who will begin producing around Christmas time. In future, we plan to stagger our flocks so that we can keep production high year-round... but this year that was not in the cards for us. We hope you will be patient with us and our birds as we weather this transition and look forward to plenty more eggs in the seasons to come! In the meantime, we apologize in advance if you head to our farm stand and are not getting the eggs you're after. We will do our best to keep the stand stocked with lots of other wonderful items to keep you in good food :)
#2 - Need Feed? Know anyone who does?
We have a truck arriving from Lakeland Farms this coming Tuesday August 27th. We have space to fill a few more skids with bagged feed. You can check out their offerings here https://lakelandfarms.ca/feed-mill. They have a wide variety of feed available for all kinds of livestock. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in getting some bagged feed, please reach out to me and let me know what you're after and we can help to coordinate this. We will need you to pickup any bagged feed on Tuesday August 27th as we do not have space to store it. If you are looking for bulk chicken feed, we will also have that available to fill your own containers with.
#3 - Awesome Community Cooperation Happening at the Farm Stand!
We are so excited to see our vision for our cooperative farm stand coming to life here at the farm. Our intention with our farm stand was always to increase our variety by collaborating with local producers to bring you all a variety of chemical-free, high quality, delicious food.. all in one place ... and the buzz is starting to catch on! We have a whole whack of jams and jellies from Dreamcatcher farm, fresh blueberries from Sunshine Bay Retreat, some plums from Homegrown Acres as well as gorgeous garlic from Heliotropic Gardens, grown at Dave's place up the road. We will be bringing lots of these goods to market this week as well on behalf of these awesome growers!
#4 - Waffles en Route and more Strawberries
We are hoping to have a solid re-stock of waffles available by Tuesday. We will also restock our frozen strawberry supply in the coming days as a solid compliment.

LOCATION
Head to www.growwild.com/map/ to see a map!
Our address is 655 Ferguson Rd. As you drive down the driveway you will pass some old stables. Just beyond the stables is an open area you can park in. Our Farm Stand Cabin is located on the right (north side). You will need to head down the pathway and continue around to the front of the building and enter the cabin off the front deck. Friendly reminder, things are still a little rough around the edges. Please bare with us as we refurbish and get our little stand in shape!
FEEDBACK
We love feedback! These Farm Stand Days are our opportunity to try new things and see how they are received and enjoyed (or not) by our community. Please feel free to reach out and let us know what you think of any of the products we have on offer.
PAYMENT
Payment is through the honour system. We will have a cash box on the table. If you do not have cash you can e-transfer to emshaking@gmail.com. All proceeds from our sales go back into the farm.
