#1 - Farm Stand is Stocked
With the abundance of the season and with our final 3 markets ahead, we are trying hard to keep our farm stand nice and stocked with loads of fresh goodies all week long. Please feel free to stop in anytime and see what we've got in our fridges. We are continuing to collaborate with all our wonderful local community growers to keep the abundance and variety on the up and up. Its really neat to see people coming by to see what we've got before they head to town only to realize that a good amount of what we need is being supplied by our own community members. Heart expanding really...
We are headed into a change of season, which means that it's time for our hens to slow down. It is also time for us to refresh our flock. We welcomed a new batch of birds to the farm this week and we're excited to find a rhythm in the future where we don't create this kind of slow down or shut down of supply. Apologies in advance... and in the meantime... enjoy the eggs.
We excitedly welcomed Lakeland Farms to the farm this weekend. They have helped us source a grain silo and also dropped off loads of 17% layer feed for us so we can continue to scoop you all delicious organic bulk feed at a good price. Check out their website here https://lakelandfarms.ca/feed-mill and let us know if you want us to help coordinate any of your feed needs. Please spread the word to anyone who you might think is interested.
Waffles are back in the farm stand. Come and get 'em. Bag of 6 for $8.

#5 - Sh**! We've got too many Shishitos!
Have you ever had Shishito peppers? They're a small, mild, green pepper that you blister in a hot skillet with a little olive oil and then add a dash of lime and some crunchy salt. They have these great little handles that you can use to pick them up and you just eat the peppers up. They make a wonderful appetizer and a great item to put out this long weekend as part of a spread. We are selling them 2 for 1 in the farm stand and at the market this weekend. We also have their more punchy big brother, the Padron pepper, which are prepared the same way but have a bit of a kick. We like 'em, you might too.

#6 - Got ideas? Share 'em with us.
is there anything you'd like to see more of at our farm stand or market stall? Anything you think would be nice to see locally that you have a hard time sourcing? Let us know.

Our address is 655 Ferguson Rd. As you drive down the driveway you will pass some old stables. Just beyond the stables is an open area you can park in. Our Farm Stand Cabin is located on the right (north side). You will need to head down the pathway and continue around to the front of the building and enter the cabin off the front deck. Friendly reminder, things are still a little rough around the edges. Please bare with us as we refurbish and get our little stand in shape!
We love feedback! These Farm Stand Days are our opportunity to try new things and see how they are received and enjoyed (or not) by our community. Please feel free to reach out and let us know what you think of any of the products we have on offer.
Payment is through the honour system. We will have a cash box on the table. If you do not have cash you can e-transfer to emshaking@gmail.com. All proceeds from our sales go back into the farm.
