FARM NEWS (5 Notes)
There will be no fresh sourdough loaves this week. We are finding that demand for fresh bread is down significantly, so we will bake every 2 weeks for the next little while and continue to keep our stock in the freezer nice and full.
|
This week we will bake a whole pile of fresh bagels that will be available for pre-order and pickup on Friday afternoon. We will stock the remainder in the freezer for folks to pickup whenever they'd like.

Pickup will begin at 12pm on Friday at the Farm Stand for any items ordered this week. I will have your pre-ordered items in bags with your names on them.

#3 - CROP PLANNING IS HAPPENING!
|
We're planning our growing season. I've got the spreadsheets out, taking seed stock, dreaming of warmer days and sunshine (not that it's particularly cold....).

The goal this year is to continue to expand our growing capacity and see how much good fruit and veg we can grow for our community. We also hope to partner with some of our neighbouring growers to keep our fridges brimming with local, nutrient dense food for all of you and to secure our place in your hearts as a steadfast, reliable stop on your shopping loop.

We are putting out feelers for some on-farm assistance. We are working to fill a Farm Hand position to work alongside us this season. Tasks include bed prep, seed starts, planting, weeding, harvesting, wash/pack, general landscaping, kitchen work, chicken chores and more! We're looking for someone who doesnt mind the grind of physical work, who is reliable and motivated by the realities of working with the land to produce food for our local community. Bonus if they have market garden growing experience and/or food production experience of any kind.

We are looking for someone 2 days a week beginning asap, up to 3 days a week from June-September and then 2 days a week from October until we're wrapped for the season. Thanks everyone!

NOTE: Our farm stand is open daily during daylight hours and is stocked with lots of fresh fruit and veggies (in season), eggs, waffles, crackers and more. Come on by anytime.

Our address is 655 Ferguson Rd. When you pull into the driveway you can turn right just before the stables. There are signs directing you down to the farm stand parking lot. You then walk across the lawn to the little farm stand cabin.

Payment is through the honour system. We have a cash box on the table. If you do not have cash you can e-transfer to emily@growwild.com. All proceeds from our sales go back into the farm.
