FARM NEWS (5 Notes)


#1 - We're Back! Pre-Order Here for pickup on Saturday March 8th.

Thanks for waiting. We've had a good and productive few weeks on the farm and also managed to time our time off with this lovely flu season we're all sharing! So, that was fun. We're all healthy and happy and ready to rock.

Pre-Orders are now open for all fresh micro-bakery sourdough products. Please click this link: https://forms.gle/5QNAzk283RTPKFB26 to place your pre-orders. If the form is not accessible for you, please just reply to this note or send me a message and I'll put it in for you.

We will be taking orders until Thursday evening. I will bake extra items for folks who want to pop in and see what we've got.

Pickup will begin at 10am on Saturday at the Farm Stand for any items ordered this week. Please do not come before 10am on Saturday. I am often baking until the very last minute, I'm tied to the oven... and need all the time to get things set up. I will have your pre-ordered items in bags with your names on them. Any other loose items on the table will be available for sale.

#2 - Feature Bagels This Week - We're going with the tried and true favourites.

This week bagel options will be:
  • Simple with Seeds
  • Cheese - These are $2.50 each because cheese is expensive.
  • Cinnamon + Raisin
#3 - Other Baked Goodies Restocked!

We have stocked the freezer and display table with a good stash of frozen pizza dough, frozen sourdough waffles and sourdough crackers! There is also a few frozen and sliced loaves. We hear you, we know that folks are really enjoying these frozen loaves. We will do what we can to have this household staple at the ready for you whenever we can.

#4 - Egg Report

Its happening... slowly. Our young hens are starting to lay. Its a slow and steady increase that will likely get turned on its head by any cold weather snaps.

What does this mean for your eggs? You will be starting to see a few smaller eggs in your boxes as our hens get up to laying bigger eggs. We weigh each egg and are sure to stock only eggs that are 54g and above. The standard Medium egg in Canada is 49g. So we are stocking only medium/large up to jumbo eggs in the boxes. These fresh eggs are just THE BEST!

We like to share these kinds of insights with you all, so you can understand the seasonality of our egg supply.

We're so excited... and also completely overwhelmed... but hey, what's new.

NOTE: Our farm stand is open daily during daylight hours and is stocked with lots of fresh fruit and veggies, eggs, jams, waffles, crackers and more!. Come on by anytime!

Our address is 655 Ferguson Rd. As you drive down the driveway you will pass some old stables. Just beyond the stables is an open area you can park in. Our Farm Stand Cabin is located on the right (north side). You will need to head down the pathway and continue around to the front of the building and enter the cabin off the front deck.
Friendly reminder, things are still a little rough around the edges. Please bare with us as we refurbish and get our little stand in shape!
