#1 - A Few Weeks Off Fresh Baking - Next Fresh Baking on March 8th
We are taking a few weeks off fresh baking so I can hang out with my kids on the ski hill, get some seeds into some dirt and do a little reset around here. We will continue to stock eggs, frozen loaves, frozen bagels, frozen waffles and pizza dough (its finally in there now!). I'm going to get going on a new batch of crackers and some more waffles as well, so keep an eye out for those.
#2 - Customer Survey
Our customer survey is now live! Thank you very much to all of you who have already filled it out. We have gotten some great insights and I'll send out a summary in early March based on our learnings.
Click on this link to access it - https://forms.gle/Guy61sbbHe2bFo9h6
If you could, please take some time to fill this out and help us grow. We welcome and truly appreciate any feedback, both positive and negative. So, let us hear what you really think! What we learn from you will help guide our decision making as we plan, plant and prep for the upcoming farm stand and market season as well as inform our broader planning for our place in the community.
The survey will be open for the month of February.
#3 - Bulk Feed
We sell bulk chicken feed! Its organic, its awesome and its from Lakeland Feed in Salmon Arm. We fill your own containers or bags and it costs $1.45/kg. That works out to the equivalent of $29 per 20kg bag that you'd pickup from a shop. Its good value and the feed is really great. If you know people with chickens who are looking for a steady organic supply, please pass along our details.
#4 - Egg Update
Its very cold. And our barn is not insulated. We have been working hard to get the chickens access to the ground and we've been feeding them some cracked corn to keep them warm. They are happy and healthy but are not producing too much yet. We ARE however, beginning to get our first few little pullet eggs... and we are seeing our numbers slowly creep up. We are feeling cautiously optimistic that in the next 4 weeks we will see a steady uptick and be able to get our fridge stocked with more and more eggs as we work our way into spring! Keep the positive thoughts flowing for our hens and we look forward to seeing our egg supply jump up so we can get more eggs to all of you!
#5 - Farewell to Frank
Our oldest and dearest Runner Duck, Frank, passed this week. He was very old and very upright. He was a dear friend and companion (even though he never let us get near him until his last day). He was a good communicator, a man of routine and a wonderful Grow Wild Ambassador. He was kind and welcoming as we increased our flock this last season and he provided years of good energy and laughter for the entire time we have been on the farm. Farewell dear Frank... I'm relatively certain we will never know another duck as upright as you.
NOTE: Our farm stand is open daily during daylight hours and is stocked with lots of fresh fruit and veggies, eggs, jams, waffles, crackers and more!. Come on by anytime!

Our Farm Stand Cabin is located on the right (north side). You will need to head down the pathway and continue around to the front of the building and enter the cabin off the front deck. Friendly reminder, things are still a little rough around the edges. Please bare with us as we refurbish and get our little stand in shape!
